Born on 19 January 1956 in Ljubljana. In 1979 he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana with a degree in printmaking (under Profs. Marjan Pogacnik and Joze Brumen).
Initially working alternately in the fields of printmaking and painting, he has dedicated himself exclusively to painting since 1985. He has translated a number of texts from English and French, publishing his translations of Marcelin Pleynet's "De Pictura" (1985) and Kazimir Malevich's "Bog ni zapustil prestóla. Umetnost. Cerkev. Tovarna" (translation of "God is not Cast Down") (plus excerpts from Emmanuel Martineau's philosophical treatise "Malevich et la philosophie") with Galerija $KUC in 1986, and several translations of art theory and his own texts in the M'Ars journal and in various catalogues.
