Biography

Metod Frlic graduated in Sculpture from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana in 1989, under Prof. Lujo Vodopivec, who also mentored him through his post-graduate studies, which he completed in 1996. He has held numerous one-man exhibitions and participated in many group exhibitions in Slovenia and abroad. He is the author of several public sculptures. Among the awards he has received are the 1997 Grand Prix at the 3rd Kranj Biennale, the 2008 Excellence Award -2008 Olympic Landscape Sculpture Design Contest, Beijing, followed in the same year by the Mayor's Prize awarded at the Ljubljana Town Hall. Also in 2008, he received a prize awarded by the University of Ljubljana for the artistry of his work. He teaches at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana, where he also lives. He works in Malenski Vrh.
