“Matilda is a woman; at least, she usually looks like one. She is not an artist; however, she does find inspiration in ordinary things, like bananas and monkeys, swimming pools and milk, spandex and leotards, disco dancing, her breasts, and concepts like woman, mother, family, ambiguity, foolishness and freelance. She loves to sing, slam the drums, and write songs. She is working with images that spring from her daydreams, but not exclusively. The stage is her home and a place where she is truly alive.
Matilda is tackling situations that excite her in her daily life and she performs them on the stage. At the moment, she is fascinated by death, aging, and the meaning of life or humanity as such, elbowing and indifference, lack of empathy, presidents on bicycles, and George Michael. Her plan is to study all these concepts thoroughly, to chew them, and to disgorge them out in her performance, which is a testimony on this world in which she has found herself.” (Matilda Buns)
With the new series Image Snatchers Presents, the group Feminalz is establishing a new way of working, by means of which members of the group look closely into the life of one of their techoburlesque characters. The first to present herself is Urška Vohar, who, as a regular member of the group Feminalz, performs under her artistic name, Matilda Buns.
The performance was followed by a crazy closing party of the 23rd International Festival of Contemporary Arts - City of Women!
