Performed on just two square metres, Access All Areas is an electrifying piece, exploring claustrophobia, anxiety and pressure in relation to ever-more frightening conditions in a typical office workplace. Her work unveils the paranoiac everyday life of employees and reveals psychological and physical anomalies resulting from the commonly adopted dictate of maximising profit. Rosie Dennis, dressed in a grey-white business suit, plays a female office worker on the edge of a nervous breakdown. Stammering, mumbling and obsessive, she repeatedly cries out words revealing the stress and pain of an overburdened employee forced to suppress any individuality. In a complex combination of spoken word, movement, sound and silence, writer and director Rosie Dennis applies her experience to explore fear, isolation and escape through this re-creation of a vulnerable and dysfunctional person who has been pushed to the very limits. Rosie Dennis is as funny as our reality is absurd and ironic.
