Biography

Hanka Paldum began her successful career in 1980 with the release of her first album Čežnja (Longing). She has worked with the most famous names in popular music in Ex-Yugoslavia, including Milić Vukašinović, Goran Bregović and Bodo Kovačević. Thanks to hits – such as Zelene Oči (Green Eyes), Voljela Sam Voljela (I Did Love), Crne Kose (Black Hair) or Ja Te Pjesmom Zovem (I Call You Back With A Song) – her albums sold by the million. Of late, Hanka Paldum has dedicated herself in particular to the interpretation of traditional Bosnian love song »sevdalinke«, and, following successful concerts in Sarajevo, Skopje and Dubrovnik, her album – dedicated to »sevdalinke« through the ages – was released in 2007.
