Nicola Canavan, born North East England (UK) began working nationally and internationally after graduating in 2006. Canavan's practice is rooted in action-based performance and spans live work, documentation of its products & traces and the re-presentation of these in other forms. Canavan acknowledges and resists the sacred and divine by modifying the flesh and by pursuing rituals that transcend the body. Canavan has performed and exhibited nationally and internationally including Momentum Festival (Brussels), Bodily Functions (Cork), }performance s p a c e[ and Inbetween Time, Arnolfini (UK).
