After graduating in humanities at Bologna University in 1979, Loredana Bianconi worked as a film critic, as well as in the organisation of film events and several international video festivals. Further to this she worked for RAI 3 (Italy’s state broadcaster) and became involved in scriptwriting for radio and television shows in New York. In the early 1980's she started producing her own films, in particular documentaries and videos.
