Shelbatra Jashari is a conceptual multimedia artist, actress and dancer/performer who works cross-medially in film, movement, sound, space and text. Her work researches the sculptural elements of the human body, the human condition and it's representation in various political and thinking systems. Humour, playfulness, games and laughing are important elements with which she experiments. Her films 'kismet' and 'yx' were internationally screened at various international film festivals such as IFFR, EIFF, City of Women, Femina Brazil, and twice awarded at the Courtisane international film festival Gent in 2004 and in 2007. Her performance 'Writing Piece" was shown in several European cities (Prishtina, Brussels, Belgrade, Elbasan, Milano, Bangkok, Venice) in the framework of contemporary arts events and won the Celeste Prize 2014 in the category Performance Art, Sculpture and Installation in Milano - it equally participated in the finals for Video art & Sculpture competition at Premio Arte Laguna in Venice. Her "Polimetria' co-directed videoclip for Richard Colvaen reached up to 45 000 views on vimeo [collaboration with Beaver&Beaver company]. Previously, her videowork was used by theatercompanies in Belgium [Le Cri, L'evni, ...] and also in Tokyo [tarinanaika] as scenographic background.
