Eleni Laperi (b.1949, Tiranë) is an art scholar, curator and art critic. She is a graduate in Painting of the Higher Institute of Arts in Tirana (1972). Laperi was appointed the designer of the art magazine “Shqiptarja e Re” (“The New Albanian Woman”) (1972-1980) and the designer of the bureau of figures in the Cartographical Enterprise in Tirana (1980-1989). In 1989 she was appointed the curator of the State Salon of Art, a position she hold until 1993, when Laperi started working for the National Gallery of Arts until year 2000. Laperi has been one of the co-founders and the chief editor of PamorArt, a magazine published by the National Gallery of Arts (1999), and she has also been the initiator of the Education Program in the same institution (2000). Laperi has curated many exhibitions in Albania and abroad. She is the author of a number of articles on the Albanian art, books and translations on art and culture. Recently, Laperi is conducting a study on Kolë Idromeno, founder of Albanian realism and a second one on the Albanian art between 1883-1945. She was appointed the Board Chair of the National Gallery of Arts (2018).
