It would be hard to have seen Mary Duffy's performance Stories of My Body and not be affected in some significant way. A performance which challenges your experience of knowledge can only serve to shake complacent inclinations, and your own position of identity in viewing the work. The performance of this work and its audience is relatively small and private. Deliberately so. However, its effects are important, wide-ranging and contain challenges for both audiences and artists engaged in contemporary art practice alike (Mo White).
