Alexis O’Hara has developed a cabaret show entitled Limbic Transit System especially for the City of Women festival. It could just as well be called »The Best of Alexis O’Hara«, and in it she presented the funniest of her cabaret alter-ego characters which despite their being amusing (or maybe precisely because of it) create an electrifying and socially critical atmosphere which triggers embarrassed laughter and the occasional roar. O’Hara switches characters extremely rapidly, in one instant »a lady« and the next a nun. An insuperable master in the play of voice, she also builds the dramaturgy through the intervention of unusual sounds. O’Hara’s particular speciality is, however, real-time management of electronic sound generators, in addition to which she boasts a remarkable presence and humour communicated via an unpredictable narrative.
