Silvia Federici gave a statement about her lecture in Slovenska Kinoteka, which she had on the 5th of October, 2014, titled The Return of Primitive Accumulation and the Ongoing War Against Women.
The same as at the dawn of capitalism, today’s expansion of capitalist relations as well is also accompanied by an escalation of violence against women. Connecting the new witch hunts in Africa and India with the global spread of forms of femicide and the new restrictions being imposed on women’s control over their own bodies, Federici discusses the material foundations of the new forms of domestic, communal and institutional violence.
