Synopsis

In the new edition of the Glossary of Common Knowledge (2018-2022) Geopolitics referential field is repeating from the previous edition (2013-2018) because we feel such wide referential fields can never be fully exhausted. The first edition of the Geopolitics referential field took place in 2015. At the time a group of international narrators proposed 14 terms for the glossary. In, 2019, a new group of international narrators proposed a set of 15 terms by addressing their current research or artistic projects and propose terms signified by specific local environments. They produced a multitude of voices that explore alternative ways of making global alliances, either by drawing from historical case studies or addressing urgent sociopolitical issues to go beyond the dominant epistemological models in contemporary art.

Participants: Sara Buraya (Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía), Steven Ten Thije (Van Abbemuseum), Anja Isabel Schneider (M HKA), Maria Iñigo (MACBA), Meriç Öner (SALT), Kuba Szreder (Muzeum Sztuki Nowoczesnej w Warszawie), Zdenka Badovinac (MG+MSUM), Bojana Piškur (MG+MSUM), Ida Hiršenfelder (MG+MSUM), Jennifer Hayashida (Akademin Valand), Jesús Carrillo (Universidad Autónoma), Chương-Đài Võ (Asia Art Archive), Vali Mahlouji (curator), María Berríos (curator), Miran Mohar (artist), Jonas Staal (artist), Vladan Joler (Share Foundation).
