Synopsis

In the individual development phases of the project Robot Partner, we strive to explore the basics of and the relationships in the partnership between man, other living beings and machine. The project reflects on contemporary values, ideas and images of progress (Fortschritt). One of the objectives is to relaunch the development of automated service systems in an artistic way that does not seek answers but poses questions. The Living Table, on the one hand, suggests possible automation of everyday table service with all its absurdity and repetitive movements, but on the other hand, these absurd situations give rise to a poetics in which the spectator can recognise their own place.
